Some men run to win.
Some run so you can.
“A horse entered into a race to make sure a
horse from the same stable wins.”
Running Mate
That is the whole idea. A running mate is not competing with you. He is in the race so that you finish it.
Most men in ministry have people around them.
Very few have men like that.
What We Actually Do
We are friends. That is the point, and everything below exists to make it possible.
-
Your cohort gets on a call for about an hour. Wins from the month, a topic, the hard things, prayer. Different men lead it. Some months a guest comes and sets the topic himself.
-
A multi-day, curated retreat with your cohort.
-
Everyone gathers — pastors and wives together. Not a conference. We minister to you as a couple and eat well.
-
Getaways. Snowboarding, fishing, golf. No sessions, no notebooks.
-
A group thread. Mostly bad jokes. Some of it matters.
Friends – Not Programs
Groups are free. Retreats, the fall gathering, and getaways carry their own cost, shared with each cohort ahead of time.

Meet Your Host:
Josh Roberts
Twenty-five years in. I don't just talk about the man I am now — ask me about year two, when I had no idea what I was doing and needed a running mate more than anyone.
This is why Running Mates exists. I needed it before I could build it.
How to Get Into a
Cohort
You run with men in the same season as you. Shared experiences and common threads that help forge real, long–lasting relationships.
Most men are here because someone already in it spoke for them. You cannot buy your way into a friendship, and you should not be able to buy your way into this.
If nobody has vouched for you, get on a call with me. Thirty minutes. I am trying to figure out where you are and whether there is a group you would fit. Sometimes the answer is not yet.
This isn't for you if
You want an audience.
You would rather pay for the relationship than build it.
You cannot commit to showing up.
Pastors
Lead Pastors, Associates, Planters & Founders. Men who know what it’s like to carry the weight of leadership.
More to Come…
Groups get added as they exist, not announced before. We’re not trying to meet a quota – We’re built, not bought.
Men early in ministry – Just cutting their teeth and getting used to stewarding a life of serving God’s Church.
